For this final section, you provide a preparation date for the current version of the SDS. You can also include other items that do not fit readily into the previous sections.

Other information / recent history (Optional)

NOTE: This entry area prints without a title/label on the generated SDS.

Possible items to include are:

·       A list of revision(s) made since the previous version (if any) of the SDS

·       A key to abbreviations/acronyms used elsewhere in the SDS

·       Literature references for citations in other sections

·       Identification of the technique used to derive each GHS classification: e.g., "Test data", "Calculation", "Bridging/dilution", "Bridging/batching", "Expert judgment", etc. This information may be required in the EU/EEA, for a product that is a mixture.

·       A table of contents or index for attachments to the SDS (if any), such as exposure scenarios for an EU/EEA-type SDS

·       Suggestions for worker training

Specify a version number for the SDS. This item will appear at the top of the generated SDS.

Revision (Optional)

Identify the revision number of the SDS.

Supersedes  (Optional)

Identify the version number of a previous SDS, if any, which this version replaces.

Issued on

Indicate the date on which the current version of the SDS was prepared.

Print date  (Optional)

Specify the date on which the SDS was last printed.

 

Next steps

Check your work on the previous tabs. You may want to click on the green progress bars (lower left on the SDS form). The program will present a dialog in which you can look for items that may be missing or incorrect. You can double click on a listed item to go its location on the SDS form.

When you are ready to generate the SDS, click on the “Build report” tab.

      I.         OSHA guidance

This section indicates when the SDS was prepared or when the last known revision was made. The SDS may also state where the changes have been made to the previous version. You may wish to contact the supplier for an explanation of the changes. Other useful information also may be included here.

A4.3.16 SECTION 16: Other information

Provide information relevant to the preparation of the SDS in this section. This should incorporate other information that does not belong in sections 1 to 15 of the SDS, including information on preparation and revision of the SDS such as:

(a) the date of preparation of the latest revision of the SDS. When revisions are made to an SDS, unless it has been indicated elsewhere, clearly indicate where the changes have been made to the previous version of the SDS. Suppliers should maintain an explanation of the changes and be willing to provide it upon request;

(b) a key/legend to abbreviations and acronyms used in the SDS; and

(c) key literature references and sources for data used to compile the SDS.

NOTE: While references are not necessary in SDSs, references may be included in this section if desired.

 

  III.         European Union guidance

SECTION 16: Other information

This section of the safety data sheet shall contain other information that is not included in sections 1 to 15, including information on the revision of the safety data sheet such as:

(a)  in the case of a revised safety data sheet, a clear indication of where changes have been made to the previous version of the safety data sheet, unless such indication is given elsewhere in the safety data sheet, with an explanation of the changes, if appropriate. A supplier of a substance or mixture shall be able to provide an explanation of the changes upon request;

(b)  a key or legend to abbreviations and acronyms used in the safety data sheet;

(c)   key literature references and sources for data;

(d)  in the case of mixtures, an indication of which of the methods of evaluating information referred to in Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 was used for the purpose of classification;

(e)  a list of relevant hazard statements and/or precautionary statements. Write out the full text of any statements, which are not written out in full under sections 2 to 15;

(f)   advice on any training appropriate for workers to ensure protection of human health and the environment.
