SDS Section 7 (Tab "7 Handling-storage")

Details

Quick start

In this section you specify safe-handling practices appropriate for the product uses you identified on Tab "1 Identification"; and which also account for the particular physical/chemical properties of the product.

Þ    Fields and other items that are “required” — recommended to generate a substantially complete SDS — have burgundy titles or applicability notes on the entry form.[1]

Þ    Enter either the requested information or “No data available.” for each required field (use the [N]o data button).

1.     Precautions for safe handling — If relevant, discuss containment and release control measures (scrubbers, filters, keeping product away from drains, etc.). Identify potential hygiene issues: eating, drinking, smoking, hand washing frequency, handling contaminated clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE). Discuss conditions that might alter the product, creating new risks and consequent responses.

2.     Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities — Possible topics include the effects of weather, pressure, temperature, sunlight, humidity, and vibration on the product. Discuss stabilizer and antioxidant use. Identify, if relevant, ventilation requirements, evaporation control, storage quantity limits, storage room design, incompatible materials and packaging.

3.     Specific end uses (required for EU/EEA and GB; optional for others) — Provide more detailed recommendations related to the product end uses you identified on Tab "1 Identification" (Relevant identified uses/uses advised against), possibly discussing industry-specific practices and/or chemical safety evaluations.

4.     Next, click on the “8.1 Exposure-protection” tab.
