We’ve released a minor update. It is free for licensed SDScribe™ 2025 users, and you can either update the program when reminded (on program startup), or from our existing customers page.
Among the changes:
There were some minor issues with the dialog that appears just before generating an SDS (“Select SDS generation options…”). The font displayed as an illustration on the “Other options” tab did not always match the font used in the resulting SDS.
The update requires that you check the Use an alternate font box for the displayed font to change.
When the box is not checked, the displayed font defaults to Arial (previously it displayed Arial narrow).
“Select SDS generation options…” dialog, “Other options” tab, showing (1) the selected font as an illustration of a section header; and (2) the new “Table accents” check box. Both items appear under “Section header options”.
Another check box is now available on the SDS generation options dialog, “Other options” tab, for Table accents. If you select this option, and have chosen a border color, then SDS sections which you have selected to be in table format will use the border color for table lines, column header text, and (where applicable) footnote text.
Example of a table (SDS Section 15) generated with the Table accents box checked and a border color set to blue.
There was a minor issue in Section 9 (physical-chemical properties) on generated SDSs using the UN format with the “UN standard” sorting order for the properties. In this case, two fields, “Appearance” and “Odor threshold”, would appear in the listing whether or not they contained any information. They should have only appeared when they contained user entries.
The dialog that appears immediately prior to generating GHS labels (“Select label generation options…”) incorrectly indicated that the default font on the generated labels was Arial. It is actually Arial Narrow, and the dialog now reflects this distinction.
