Microsoft Security Update KB5094126 (Windows 11) causes an SDScribe™ error on startup.

Microsoft released a flawed update, “2026-06 Security Update (KB5094126) (26200.8655)” which can cause system freezes and boot issues on some workstations.

It also causes an error when starting SDScribe™:

SDScribe.exe - Entry Point Not Found, The procedure entry point u_isspace could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\System32\StructuredQuery.dll.

If you are experiencing this error message when starting SDScribe™, you can install the optional, end-of-the-month patch from Microsoft, KB5095093.

  1. Type [Windows key]-i to bring up the Settings dialog.

  2. Select Windows Update (near the bottom of the list, on the left panel).

  3. Click on “Advanced options” in the main portion of the dialog.

  4. Click on “Optional updates”. Look for “2026-06 Preview Update (KB5095093) (26200.8737)”. If it is present, check the box to the left of the entry, and then click on “Download & install”.

If you decide not to install the optional update, you can also roll back the KB5094126 update:

  1. From the Windows Update dialog, click on “Update history”.

  2. Scroll down near the bottom and click on “Uninstall updates”.

  3. Find KB5094126 and click on the “Uninstall” link.

In the upcoming security update on July 7 (on the second Tuesday), Windows should include the corrections that are included in the preview update, KB5095093.
